Website monitoring with SMS alerts
Uptimia checks your sites, certificates and checkout flows from outside your network and texts the number you answer when one fails. There is no messaging vendor to sign up with and no second invoice — the texts go out on our account, starting with the next failed check.
Overview
Last 7 DaysText alerts are built in
Add your phone number and Uptimia texts it when a check fails. Sending is part of your plan — there is nothing else to connect and no separate bill to pay.
Texts through a separate SMS service
Uptimia supports that route too, through the Twilio integration. But it is a procurement task before it is an alert, and afterwards the carrier invoices you directly for every message.
Texts straight from Uptimia
The number sits in your contact list beside the email addresses. Uptimia sends the message on its own account, out of the monthly text allowance your plan already includes.
Nine monitors down, one text
One database failure can take down every check that depends on it. Monitors that share an escalation policy fold into a single incident — one text when it starts, one when it is over.
Set up SMS alerts in three steps
There is nothing to connect and nothing to install. Add your phone number, point your monitors at it, and decide when it may ring.
Add your phone number
Type it in, and a verification text proves the wiring on the spot.
Point your monitors at it
Pick the checks that should text you — all of them, or just the ones that can’t wait.
Decide when it may ring
Quiet hours keep the nights calm, planned maintenance texts nobody, and an unacknowledged alert moves on to the next person.
Add and verify an SMS number
The Help Center covers the setup and the parts that decide whether a text arrives: verification, country coverage, and how the monthly allowance is spent.
Everything you monitor can text you
A homepage ping only proves the homepage. A certificate about to expire, a checkout failing halfway, a server filling its disk, a backup that never ran — every check you run can text the same phone.
A text only when it matters
A text interrupts, so Uptimia sends as few as possible: a failure is confirmed from several locations before anything goes out, related monitors share one incident, and the quiet hours you set stay quiet.
Nothing to connect.Just your number.
The whole platform on the trial — uptime, checkout flows, certificates, servers and more, with text alerts included.
What sits behind the text
The text tells you something failed. Behind it sit 171+ checkpoints, the full incident record, response-time charts and a status page your customers can read — for the moments you want more than a notification.
Where the evidence lives
The text names the monitor, its status and the minute the incident started. The dashboard keeps the rest: which locations confirmed the failure, what the response looked like, and an acknowledge button if you skipped the link.
A sender you recognise
Where carriers allow a name as the sender, the text arrives from Uptimia; elsewhere it comes from a fixed number you can save as a contact.
Included, not invoiced
Texts come out of a monthly allowance that resets on the 1st. No per-message fee, and nothing to top up mid-month.
Acknowledge from the text
The alert carries a link — one tap says you are on it and stops the escalation, no login needed.
Where it can reach
North America and most of Europe, plus Japan, Korea, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, India, Brazil and a dozen more.
When one text should become two
On an escalation policy — Professional plan and above — an ignored alert climbs: the next number after the delay you set, then another channel entirely. Planned maintenance sends nothing at all.
How website monitoring SMS alerts work
Uptimia checks your websites from 171+ external locations and texts your phone when a check fails. The message says which monitor failed, what went wrong and since when — and when the site recovers, a second text reports how long it was down.
Mail waits. A text arrives
The mail was delivered on time and read four hours late, because a phone treats mail as reading material. Email is the right channel for the evidence — it is the wrong one for the interruption.
Outside probes, then a plain text
The check runs outside your infrastructure, so it sees what a customer sees; the text arrives on the one channel a phone still shows unasked. Neither end needs anything installed.
