One Oh Dear site counts as one Uptimia monitor, which favours Oh Dear: a site bundles uptime, SSL, broken-link, DNS and domain checks, while Uptimia counts each check type as a monitor (10 SSL monitors on Professional). Dollar and euro prices are Oh Dear's own. Not counted: text costs on your own Vonage account.

      Where Uptimia does more

Eleven people and texts in one price

Oh Dear's price climbs with the site count. Uptimia Professional is one price for eleven people and up to 100 monitors, texts included, so nobody needs a Vonage account.

      • Texts: 150 a month, renewing.
      • Roles and an audit log: 5 roles and a log of who changed what.

Scripted checkout steps and real visitors

Oh Dear's AI browser checks follow a plain-English prompt, which Oh Dear calls a smoke test. Uptimia replays the steps you set in a visual builder, the same way on every run, and records what real visitors load, which Oh Dear's pricing page does not list.

      • Transactions: replayed as often as every 10 minutes, with a screenshot of the step that broke.

30-second checks and a server agent

Oh Dear checks once a minute at most; Uptimia Professional checks every 30 seconds. An Uptimia agent reports server CPU, memory and disk; Oh Dear has no agent and reads such figures from a health endpoint you add to your app.

      • Evidence in the alert: a screenshot and a traceroute from the moment it failed, next to the headers.
      • Confirmed outages: up to three more probes confirm a failure before alerting. Oh Dear rechecks from one second location.

      When Oh Dear fits better

      • Finding broken links and mixed content by crawling each client site, with sitemap and Lighthouse SEO checks. Uptimia does not crawl pages.
      • A Laravel shop where Spatie packages report app health and sync the schedule to Oh Dear.
      • More than two people on 5 sites or fewer pay $27 a month on Solo Plus, billed yearly, with no user cap. Uptimia Basic holds two people; more need Professional.
      • Unlimited users and status pages on every plan, plus SAML single sign-on. Uptimia has no SSO.
      • An MCP server for AI agents. Uptimia has a REST API but no MCP server yet.

      Questions agencies ask before switching

Is Uptimia a good Oh Dear alternative?

For an agency with more than 5 client sites and up to 11 people, yes: 25 sites, five people and 20 texts a month cost $39 a month on Uptimia and $91 on Oh Dear, billed annually. Uptimia's price includes the texts, and it adds real-user monitoring and a server agent, which Oh Dear does not list.

When is Oh Dear cheaper than Uptimia?

When more than two people share up to 5 sites: Oh Dear Solo Plus is $27 a month, billed yearly, with unlimited users, while that team needs Uptimia Professional.

One or two people with up to 10 sites pay less on Uptimia Basic.

Does Oh Dear include text alerts?

No. Oh Dear sends texts through a Vonage account you open and pay for yourself, and no plan includes or sells texts. Uptimia includes 50 texts a month on Basic, 150 on Professional and 500 on Enterprise.

How does an Oh Dear site compare to an Uptimia monitor?

An Oh Dear site is one address with a bundle of checks (uptime, SSL, broken links, DNS, domain expiry and more); an Uptimia monitor is one check type, so uptime plus SSL on one site uses two. Professional includes 100 uptime and 10 SSL monitors, and the calculator counts one monitor per site.

Can Uptimia find broken links like Oh Dear?

No. Oh Dear crawls each site for broken links and mixed content and checks the sitemap and Lighthouse SEO score; if that is the main reason you use it, keep it for that job.

Can I move my Oh Dear sites to Uptimia?

Yes, for free. Email your site list, or what Oh Dear's API returns, to support@uptimia.com and we set up the monitors and alert contacts.
